The Debate Goes On And On...
As promised and within keeping, I am writing today about ARLA Propertymark reacting to Westminster Hall debate on proposed fee ban.
On Wednesday 6th September ArlaPropertyMark posted a blog about the debate, which was sponsored by Kevin Hollinrake MP and received a response from the Housing Minister.

The Result
However, despite the debate-taking place, there was no outcome although a number of views and opinions were expressed.
The topics brought to light were the cost of references, cap on fees, and housing quality, regional differences, failed credit checks, deposits and student lets and current requirement to publish fees.

So, despite writing a blog about the end being in sight back in July it seems that we are no closer to having the answers and the future of letting fees is still up in the air and likely to be implemented next year.
When the changes are finally agreed it will mean that competition will be high and that as a letting agent I will have to step up and offer more than just a letting agent service. I will need to stand out and above the competition, as landlords will now shop around for the cheapest option.
I am already offering a first class service with a personal touch and by continuing to do so this will allow me to manage your properties with professionalism and passion.
Fees vary across the country but remember, just because an agent offers a low fee it doesn't mean that you will receive the best service, after all, you get what you pay for.
